- Participating in an Ad Hoc Forum organized by the ASEAN +3 Asian Bond Market Initiatives (ABMI) Working Group 4 (Rating Systems) on the Recent Discussions at BIS/IOSCO on CRAs, is part of ACRAA's agenda, on the timely topic of how credit rating agencies are preparing for a regime of new requirements arising from the Basel II Accord. This Forum was held back-to-back with the June 3 Best Practices Dialogue.
- A 3-day Advanced Training Workshop was conducted on 22-24 June 2005 in Kuala Lumpur for senior analysts of ACRAA members on the topic, "Rating Securitizations, CDOs and Synthetic Securitizations" by an invited professional expert trainor, with about 40 senior analysts attending (2 participants from each ACRAA member).
- Another Basic Training Workshop for junior analysts, will be held in Shanghai, China, on 7-8 November 2005, replicating the one conducted in Manila last November 2004. Actual cases of ACRAA-rated debt issues or projects are the materials used for instruction, and add a useful indigenous flavor with practical insights from an Asian perspective.
