Mr. Muzaffar Ahmed
Muzaffar Ahmed FCMA, FCS is the Founder President and CEO of Credit Rating Information and Services Limited (CRISL), the first rating agency of Bangladesh. Mr. Ahmed is also the Founder President of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries of Bangladesh. He was the President of the Institute from 1997 till 2004 and again re-elected as President in 2019-22.
Mr. Ahmed also served the Institute of Cost Management Accountants of Bangladesh (ICMAB) for 18 years as Director, Council Member, Treasurer, Secretary, Vice President, and fi¬nally, he was elected as the President in 1999. He represented ICSB and ICMAB in many national and international seminars and conferences. Starting his career as a lecturer in the Department of Accounting in Chittagong University in 1974, Mr. Ahmed served many national and international organizations in senior positions. In his professional career, Mr. Ahmed pioneered the rating industry in Bangladesh and established CRISL, the first-ever multinational rating agency of the country. He is presently serving as President and Chief Executive Officer of CRISL and advisor to the Association of Credit Rating Agencies in Bangladesh.
Mr. Ahmed is one of the Founders of the Association of Credit Rating Agencies in Asia (ACRAA) sponsored by the Asian Development Bank and he has also served ACRAA as a member of the Board of Directors and Chaired the Training Committee of the Association. He is still in the Board and heading the Training Committee as Chairman and Fin-Tech Committee as Vice Chairman.
The Financial Mirror rewarded Mr. Ahmed for his outstanding contribution towards Institutional Development in the Financial Sector of the country once in 2004 and again in 2010. Mr. Ahmed has many publications and has attended many Conferences and Seminars both at home and abroad and presented number of technical papers as a Resource Person.
